BamPro is a premium bamboo materials range from Machau Bamboo Products Pvt Ltd — the same company that owns the Bamboostan® consumer brand. BamPro is a distinct brand, aimed at architects, interior designers and project owners. The catalogue covers wall panels, ceilings, partitions, beams, boards, slats, dowels, blinds, privacy screens and decorative lighting — designed to specify together across a single interior.
BamPro is manufactured at Machau Bamboo Products' own facility in Rukminigaon, Guwahati, Assam. The supply chain is fully integrated from raw bamboo intake to finished, packed material — quality, finish and lead times stay end-to-end in-house. Marketing and sales are handled from Mulund East, Mumbai.
Interior designers, architects, project owners, hospitality developers and premium material distributors — for projects ranging from private residences and F&B interiors to resorts, wellness spaces and public infrastructure. BamPro is supplied across India and to projects worldwide.
Wall and ceiling panels come in three standard sizes — 2×2 ft (600×600 mm), 3×3 ft (900×900 mm) and 4×4 ft (1200×1200 mm) — at a nominal 6 mm thickness. Beams, boards, slats and dowels have their own dedicated dimensions listed in the materials catalogue PDF. Two finishes are available across the range: natural beige (raw bamboo tone) and carbonised brown (heat-treated for a darker register). Custom sizes cut to your drawings are available on request.
Both finishes are pure bamboo; the difference is heat treatment. Natural beige preserves the raw straw-gold tone — brighter, warmer, more visibly organic. Best for coastal, tropical, wellness or fresh residential registers. Carbonised brown is the same bamboo pressure-steamed to caramelise the natural sugars, giving a walnut-adjacent tone with a slightly firmer feel. Best for hospitality, restaurants and residences where a richer wood register is called for. Neither finish is stained or dyed; both age gracefully with patina. If unsure, order samples of both against your project's material palette.
Two: sizing (any dimension cut to your drawings, beyond the standard catalogue sizes) and finish (natural or carbonised). BamPro does not offer custom panel weaves, custom edge profiles or project-specific design services — every material is a standard catalogue item, made to your specified size and finish. This is deliberate: it lets us hold quality and lead times consistent across all projects.
BamPro is not a like-for-like replacement for engineered wood boards. Plywood, MDF and HDF remain more cost-effective for structural or hidden applications. BamPro is specifier-grade for surfaces that will be visible, tactile and part of the finished interior. Where BamPro wins on spec: honest natural grain (nothing synthetic), lower embodied carbon than tropical hardwood, faster renewability (bamboo matures in 3–5 years vs 20+ for hardwood), full customisability in size, and an integrated system that lets you specify walls, ceilings, partitions, blinds and lighting from a single supplier.
BamPro panels are treated during manufacturing for termite and borer resistance. Moisture resistance is suitable for sheltered indoor applications and covered outdoor installations (pavilions, canopies, verandahs); direct rain exposure or fully wet-area use needs appropriate detailing — talk to us before specifying. Fire ratings depend on the specific product and any protective coatings applied at finishing; share your project's fire-safety requirements with your brief and we will confirm the applicable ratings before quoting.
Tulda and Balcoa bamboo, which BamPro uses, have tensile strength comparable to mild steel in pure tensile loading. Bamboo is light enough to install without specialised crews yet structurally capable enough to carry the elements it forms — beams, framing, ceiling structures, canopies and pavilions are all part of the catalogue. Structural applications should still be reviewed by a qualified structural engineer for the specific loading in your project.
Yes, for sheltered outdoor installations — pavilions, ceilings, partitions, canopies, pergolas, garden pavilions and screens. Full-exposure applications (unsheltered facades in direct rain, submerged elements) are outside BamPro's recommended envelope. Share the specific outdoor use case in your enquiry and we will confirm which material and finish fits the exposure.
Yes — hospitality is a core application. The catalogue has been specified into hotels, resorts, F&B interiors, wellness spaces and public infrastructure including the Guwahati International Airport terminal. For high-traffic surfaces (bar fronts, reception walls, corridor cladding), we typically recommend the carbonised finish for its slightly firmer register and panel-with-backing framework installation. Hospitality briefs benefit from coordinated specification across ceilings, partitions, feature walls and screens from a single supply chain.
Standard catalogue sizes in stock ship within 5–7 working days from Guwahati. Custom sizes cut to drawings, or larger project quantities, typically take 12–18 working days depending on volume and finish selection. Panels ship nationwide via commercial freight; freight is quoted separately in the itemised project quote. For time-critical installs, mention your target site date in the enquiry and we will confirm feasibility up front.
No specialised bamboo crews required. Standard site carpentry is sufficient. Panels can be fastened with timber screws and washers into a batten grid, bonded with construction adhesive for flat overlay, or fitted with hidden clips for a floating look. Installation guidance for each product type is included with the order; our team is available on call for on-site clarification during install if your carpenter has questions.
Minimal. Indoor BamPro surfaces need occasional dry dusting and, in high-traffic zones, a wipe-down with a slightly damp cloth every 3–6 months. No re-sealing is required for standard indoor use. Sheltered outdoor installations (canopies, pavilions) benefit from a fresh coat of exterior-grade sealer every 2–3 years to extend service life. Avoid abrasive cleaners and harsh chemicals — bamboo, like any organic surface, prefers gentle care.
Yes. BamPro coordinates freight from Guwahati to any project site across India, quoted transparently in your itemised project quote. Panels ship crated for damage-free transit. For international projects, export documentation is handled in-house and we can quote FOB Guwahati or delivered-to-port depending on your incoterms preference. Contact shakti.b@machau.in with your project location for a delivered-cost quote.
Bamboo is among the fastest-renewable natural materials in commercial supply — Tulda and Balcoa reach specification-grade maturity in 3–5 years, versus 20–80+ years for tropical hardwood. Bamboo sequesters carbon during growth, has lower embodied energy than most engineered wood products, and is 100% biodegradable at end of life. BamPro sources from managed groves in Assam, supporting rural livelihoods and reducing the carbon footprint of import-dependent alternatives.
Yes to both. The Guwahati manufacturing facility welcomes architect and designer visits by appointment — see the raw bamboo intake, weaving lines, carbonising and finishing floors. For live installations, we can arrange site visits to projects in your region (a working record is at Built with BamPro). Write to shakti.b@machau.in to schedule.
Send us a project brief through the enquiry form, or write directly to shakti.b@machau.in. Include the site location, application (wall / ceiling / partition / etc.), approximate area or panel count, and target install date. We will arrange material samples to your studio and return an itemised quote within the working day.
Bamboo has been called the "poor man's timber" for too long. We see something different — a material with tensile strength comparable to steel, the refinement to hold its own as a finished surface, and a potential for global architecture that has barely been tapped.
Bamboo reaches maturity in three to five years. It accepts architectural precision in dimension and finish. It is light enough to install without specialised crews, and strong enough to carry the structures it forms. The opportunity is to bring all of this — properly — into the working palette of architects and interior designers, anywhere they specify.
BamPro is our attempt to make that real: a complete material system, refined in finish, considered in detail, designed to install. Made in India, made for projects worldwide. Bamboo, made specifiable.
Bamboo has a place in considered architecture, anywhere in the world. BamPro is the system that gets it there.
